As part of the Community Poverty Reduction “Know-How” project’s mentoring component, from October 25th to 27th, experts from the EDRC conducted meetings with a number of NGOs operating in Lori:

  • “Direct Democracy”NGO,
  • “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO,
  • “Lusastgh” NGO,
  • “Centre for Community Mobilization and Support” NGO,
  •  ”Argina” Cultural NGO,
  • “Navak” Child and Family Development Alaverdi Community Center,
  • “Safe childhood” NGO.

The purpose of the meetings was to provide mentoring to benefitiory NGOs of the Project. The discussions covered participatory initiatives developed by these NGOs within the framework of the Project and beyond. Additionally, the meetings introduced the new opportunities and tools provided by MTAI and MօF for public participation in the community budget process, and they also involved discussions on the future directions of providing mentoring.

During the visit to Lori Marz, experts from the EDRC, along with representatives of the “Direct Democracy” NGO, participated in a meeting with the mayor of the municipality of Vanadzor. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposal for allocating financial resources for participatory budgeting in 2024 budget of the Vanadzor community, as well as to discuss the initiatives related to the new community program developed by the NGO.
