The Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC), with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), is working to develop mechanisms for engaging young people aged 13–15 in participatory budgeting processes and to improve the existing regulatory framework. As part of this work, an interagency working discussion was organized at the initiative of GIZ, bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS), the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure (MTAI), and the Ministry of Finance (MoF). The discussion aimed to jointly review the proposed mechanisms and regulatory arrangements for youth engagement and agree on approaches for their further development.
The activities are carried out under the initiative “Technical Advisory Support for Strengthening Youth Engagement in Participatory Budgeting,” which aims to create conditions for effective and meaningful youth participation, thereby expanding their involvement in public decision-making processes.
The initiative is implemented with the support of the governments of Germany and Switzerland by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), within the framework of the “Integrated Municipal Development in Armenia” project, and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.
