On 9 July, the Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC) organized a policy dialogue on “Agriculture 2027: Policy and Budget”, bringing together representatives of the Ministry of Economy of the RA, the Ministry of Finance of the RA and Civil Society Organizations.

During the event, EDRC experts presented the key policy priorities for the agriculture sector envisaged under the 2027–2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework, the main trends in public expenditure, and the structure of the agriculture sector’s budget programmes. The discussion also covered opportunities for CSO engagement in the budget process, the available participation mechanisms, and the budget calendar.

Representatives of the Ministry of Economy presented the Government’s key policy priorities for the agriculture sector, upcoming programmes and initiatives, provided updates on ongoing reforms, and addressed questions raised by CSO representatives.

The event served as an important platform for open and constructive dialogue between public authorities and civil society, contributing to greater transparency in the budget process.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the representatives of the Ministry of Economy for sharing valuable information and professional insights, and for providing clarifications on sector policies and budget programmes. We also thank all participants for their active engagement, meaningful discussions, and constructive contributions.

The event was organized within the framework of the “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) project, which is implemented with the financial support of the European Union in cooperation with the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC), and Agora Central Europe (Czech Republic).
