In Armenia the sustaining development and successful conduction of reforms and policies are mainly stipulated by the existence of highly qualified specialists. Today there is a big lack of qualified personnel in almost every sector of economy, both in public and private organizations.

Taking into account the mentioned problem, the EDRC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of RA and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ), has initiated a project on developing of qualified specialists in the country. The current phase of the project envisages gathering a team of diligent, capable and educated young specialists, who will later have an opportunity to participate in different public and private projects. The initiative opens a unique opportunity for talented and smart young people to reveal their abilities, further develop them and to start a carrier.

The trainings under the project are addressed to all students of undergraduate courses, MA courses and postgraduates with qualification in economic sciences, as well as young economists under 25. All selected young people are passing relevant theoretical and practical trainings and periodical testing.

Currently the first phase of trainings is already conducted. The syllabus of trainings is quite comprehensive and includes lectures on such topics as State Policies, Micro and Macro Economics, Econometrics, Computer Literacy, Statistics, Analytical Writing, Working styles and Ethics, etc. Besides, the program envisages social events and meetings with well-known officials and experts. The lectures are held by local and international professionals.
